Peach Harvest in 1948

Historic photo peach harvest crew baskets truck 1948

#TBT to 1948. Peach harvest with a flatbed truck full of bushel baskets and pickers that would visit the Magic Valley annually to help harvest fruit. Our orchard was one of several in and above the Snake River Canyon. People would travel from region-to-region to help harvest the fruit on a seasonal basis. The practice of hand-picking fruit still exists today, it's a labor of love and true talent to know when the fruit is just right to pick. The fruit shed in the background sat just West of our current fruit stand.
